Dr. Zehendner was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He studied at Purdue University and graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine in 1969. From there, he moved to Harbor Beach, Michigan and spent two years treating large animals for a busy dairy practice. In 1972, Dr. Zehendner moved back home to Fort Wayne, Indiana to practice at a small animal clinic, where he spent the next six years caring for companion animals. In 1977, he moved here to Portland, Oregon and established his own veterinary clinic- focusing on dogs and cats.
Dr. Zehendner was a member of the Dove Lewis Emergency Clinic Board from 1998-2004, having served as President of the Board from 2002-2003.
He is an avid outdoorsman and has spent the past eleven years raising and training Labrador Retrievers.
Dr. Miller is a fellow “Boilermaker,” graduating from Purdue University in 1985. She began working for East Portland Veterinary Clinic in 1996 as a relief veterinarian for Dr. Zehendner, and has continued to provide quality care ever since.
She and her terrier mix, Angie, live in Rhododendron where she spends most of her free time mushroom hunting and enjoying the outdoors.
